Thomas Kaniho, 88, of South Point died June 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Waimea, he was a proprietor, retired cowboy and rancher, member of Kauaha‘ao Congregational Church and U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. The Rev. Francis Lee Topliff, 89, of Mountain View died July 3 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Jewell, Kan., he was a retired ordained pastor for the Church of Nazarene and served the Hilo, Paradise Park, and Molokai churches and was a U.S. Navy Seabees World War II veteran. Visitation 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 26) at Paradise Park Church of Nazarene Connection Point in Keaau. Memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcomed.
